Former WHITESNAKE/THE FIRM Bassist Performs With VASCO ROSSI; Video Available
May 9, 2009A couple of professionally filmed video clips of bassist Tony Franklin (THE FIRM, WHITESNAKE) performing with Italian rock star Vasco Rossi at the traditional Italian free mega-concert on May 1 at Piazza San Giovanni in Rome can be viewed below.
The band played a 50-minute set in front of 800,000 people (and over 4 million more watching the live broadcast on the Italian public television channel RaiTre).
Franklin temporarily replaced bassist Claudio "Il Gallo" Golinelli, who is recovering from some health issues.
Franklin played bass on several songs on the last two Vasco Rossi studio albums, 2005's "Buoni o Cattivi" and 2008's "Il Mondo Che Vorrei".
Rossi's band also features guitarists Stef Burns (Y&T) and Maurizio Solieri, drummer Matt Laug (SLASH'S SNAKEPIT),Alberto "Lupo Maremmano" Rocchetti (keyboards),Andrea "Cucchia" Innesto (trumpet, background vocals),Frank Nemola (programming, trumpet, background vocals) and Clara Moroni (background vocals).
